NAI at the Book Fair 2009 in Gothenburg

Göteborg Book Fair is the biggest meeting place for the book trade in the Nordic countries. The first Fair was held in 1985 and had 5,000 visitors. Since then, it has grown year after year and in 2008 no fewer than 101,000 visits were registered during the four days.

The 25th Fair took place 24th September to the 27th September, 2009. The theme was Spain.

Saturday 26 september NAI organized a discussion under the headline 'Brussels, Obama and Africa'. Jan Eliasson, ambassador and former minister for foreign affairs, Fantu Cheru, research director at the Nordic Africa Institute, and the economist Kenneth Hermele from Forum Syd discussed such issues as development, migration, climate change, terror, global trade, the financial crisis and cooperation between the EU and the US concerning Africa.
