Workshop on Archives and Digitalisation in Windhoek 21-23 November 2006
The NAI project ‘Nordic Documentation on the Liberation Struggles in Southern Africa’ hosted this workshop in Windhoek, Namibia. The project has been collaborating for several years with the National Archives of Namibia and Swapo Party and Archive Research Centre (SPARC).

African Studies Association Annual Meeting, San Fransisco 16-19 November 2006

Book and library fair (‘Bok & Bibliotek’) in Gothenburg, Sweden 21-24 September 2006
NAI participated in the annual book and library fair in Gothenburg, Sweden (‘Bok & Bibliotek’), where NAI's library received the award Library of the Year 2006. More on NAI's participation in the fair.
Inauguration of Master course, Falun, Sweden 6 September 2006
A new International Master in African Studies was launched at Dalarna University in Falun, Sweden. NAI is one of its external partners. More on the inauguration and on the collaboration between NAI and Dalarna University.
Cape Town Book Fair 17-20 June 2006
The Nordic Africa Institute participated with a book exhibit. NAI also contributed to the events programme with presentations on knowledge dissemination in African Studies.

AEGIS Thematic Conference and Plenary in Edinburgh 15–19 June 2006
‘African Cities: Competing Claims on Urban Space’ was the theme of the AEGIS thematic conference that was organized by the Centre for African Studies, University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Carin Norberg, NAI’s director and Susanne Linderos, NAI’s information manager participated in both the thematic conference and the plenary meeting. More information on the conference.

Book Fair at the Congress for the Humanities and Social Sciences, 27 May-3 June 2006
Hosted by the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (CFHSS), the multidisciplinary congress gathered some 8,500 delegates from North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. NAI participated with a book exhibit. www.fedcan.ca/congress2006
