Challenges to and prospects for rural development

Conference in Harare, Zimbabwe on 24-26 November

The role of agriculture in rural development will be discussed at a stakeholders’ conference in Harare, Zimbabwe on 24-26 November. The theme of the conference, organised and financed by NAI and the Swedish Interdisciplinary Research Network on Livelihoods and Natural Resource Governance (SERN) together with Ruzivo Trust in Harare, is ‘Rethinking and reconnecting academia in Africa's agrarian and rural development'. Kjell Havnevik, senior researcher at NAI, and NAI's researchers Eva Tobison and Terje Oestigaard will participate, amongst others. Professor Lungisile Ntsebeza will give the keynote speech.
