Carin Norberg holds a degree in political science and economics from Uppsala University (Pol Mag).
Professional background
Carin Norberg has been associated with Sida since 1971, of which the last 12 years from 1990 until 2002 as Assistant Director General with responsibility for the Department for East and West Africa, Department for Humanitarian Assistance and Co-operation with NGOs and Department for Democracy and Social Development. From 2002 until 2005 she worked for the International Secretariat of Transparency International in Berlin, Global Programmes Department.
Field Experience
Worked for Sida in Zambia between 1974-76 and in Angola 1977 – 1979.

Manpower Advisor to the UN Commissioner for Namibia 1984-1987.
Member of the Board/Programme and Research Council of the Nordic Africa Institute 1991-1999.
Member of the Board of the Swedish Institute of Alexandria 2000-2003.
