Externally funded researchers at NAI
Researchers with external funding are welcome to apply for an employment at the Institute. Your research must fit in one of the following research areas:
- Rural Dynamics: Agrarian change, property and resources
- Conflict, displacement and transformation
- Globalization, trade & regional integration
- Urban dynamics
You will as externally funded researcher be part of a creative research environment in which you will have the opportunity to participate in the development of research both within your own research area and in collaboration with researchers in other research areas.
As a researcher at the Institute, you will have access to the library which offers over 60 000 titles on modern Africa within the social sciences. The library also provides access to a wide array of online resources and professional library services. You will also be able to participate in debates on Africa through our various communication channels (publications with wide circulation, NAI's website, outreach activities and meetings with politicians and policy makers).
All researchers at the institute have the task to make the research available and that means also to participate in the activities where one's competence is requested.
For externally funded researchers NAI charges 25 percent yearly for overhead costs, based on total amount used of the approved funding.
If you want more information please contact Staff Manager Eva-Lena Svensson, phone number 018-471 52 41.
We would like you to send an application to the institute together with your CV and research proposal if you are interested to put your externally funded money at the institute. We would like to have your application by email email@example.com. We normally answer all applications within two weeks from arrival.
